Günter Zint is a legendary photographer who captured the music scene and political movements of post-war Germany. He began his career at the „Deutsche Presse-Agentur“ and soon became a regular at the Star-Club in Hamburg, where he photographed legends like Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. But his political activism did not let up either: He documented the peace and anti-nuclear movements of the 1970s and 80s.
He founded the St. Pauli Museum in Hamburg, a treasure trove of photos and documents on the history of the district. With the Günter Zint Foundation, founded in 2021, his life's work and the holdings of PAN-FOTO (a photo agency co-founded by Zint) will now be processed for future generations.
