Kurt Will

1935 — 2008

Kurt Will is a German photographer and photojournalist. He became known in the industry primarily through his work for the German magazine "Stern". He started there in 1953 in the photo lab. Over time, his duties at the magazine expanded. Between 1963 and 1972, Will photographed numerous photo reportages and cover pictures for Stern.

After 40 years, he left Stern in 1993 and from then on devoted himself to his own book projects and exhibitions. Celebrities such as Edith Piaf, Udo Lindenberg, Barbara Streisand, Muhammad Ali and Andy Warhol stood in front of his camera. Kurt Will died in 2008.
